Full-Time applications will be processed when they are submitted, although an application cannot be reviewed for a final decision by the Admissions Committee until all materials are submitted. A complete application consists of the following:
All applicants are required to submit an official score from the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), sent directly to the University of Rochester. Our GMAT test codes are:
2-year, Full-Time M.B.A. (September Entry) WX9-8-R-10
18-month, Accelerated, Full-Time M.B.A. (January Entry) WX9-8-R-73
All applicants whose native language is not English must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) unless they have studied for at least one full academic year in a college or university where English is the language of instruction. When TOEFL scores are requested from the Educational Testing Service, please include the University of Rochester code number 2928 and the Simon School department code number 02.
Please use our Transcript Request Form to request a transcript from each college or university that you have attended, even if you did not complete a degree at the institution.
The Admissions Committee considers your responses to the two required essay questions and the requested information about your employment history to be extremely important in the selection process. Please provide well constructed essays that answer the questions in the 500 words allotted per essay. To view the essay questions, please register for the online application.
The admissions process also requires that you provide two letters of recommendation. Please select recommenders who are best able to evaluate your potential for graduate study, and employment in business and management. It is advisable to have at least one professional recommendation completed by your employer or supervisor. Recommendations are completed via the online application for all applicants.
The Admissions Committee will request an interview if further interaction with the candidate is desired. Applicants selected for an interview will be notified by the Admissions Office after a preliminary review of their application materials. For candidates unable to travel to Rochester, alternative arrangements for a telephone interview or an appointment with a visiting Simon School representative during each off-campus recruiting event are possible.
If you wish to request an interview or a campus visit, call or e-mail the Admissions Office. Priority in scheduling appointments is given to applicants who have already submitted an application and received a preliminary review by the Admissions Committee. However, the Admissions Office may select candidates for interviews based upon submission of GMAT/TOEFL scores and a current résumé, if an application has not been submitted and reviewed.
