Part-Time Admissions Process

The Part-Time M.B.A. Program is as challenging as the full-time M.B.A. but offers the flexibility that working professionals require. There are four entrance dates throughout the year and you can start the M.B.A. on a matriculated or non-matriculated basis. Part-time students are also not required to be continuously enrolled every quarter, so you can take one, two, or zero classes per quarter. There is an expectation that part-time students complete at least three classes each year. Additionally, part-time students have access to a great alumni network, as many of Rochesters business executives are graduates.

M.B.A. applications must be complete before being considered by the Admissions Committee. A complete application consists of the following:

  • The online application form, including essays,
  • An official transcript from each college attended (undergraduate and graduate) regardless of whether or not you received a degree,
  • Two letters of recommendation,
  • A non-refundable application fee of $125,
  • A résumé,
  • Official scores from the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)*, and
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for international applicants who are non-native English speakers (see details in the online application).

* Students who complete the first four courses (ACC 401, STR 401, CIS 401, and GBA 411) with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher will not be required to take the GMAT.
