Financial Aid for the Full-Time M.B.A. Program

Merit-Based Financial Aid

The Simon School assists qualified full-time domestic and international students in financing their management education and has been generous in awarding merit-based scholarships to those who show promise of achieving excellence at the School and in their careers. In awarding merit-based aid, primary emphasis is given to academic excellence, professional development and demonstrated qualities of leadership. Scholarship amount, if any, is given at the same time as the admissions decision.  About 50-60% of students receive partial tuition awards. Full scholarships are very rare and extremely competitive. Furthermore, the School strongly discourages students from working while studying full-time, as the academic rigor of our courses and the time needed to conduct a career search is significant.

These awards are renewed in the second year, provided first-year academic performance has been satisfactory. To be considered for Simon School merit-based financial aid, the applicant needs only to complete the financial-aid portion of the application form.

Financial aid for international students is available, but limited, and candidates must consider the costs of financing an academic program in the U.S. International students are strongly encouraged to investigate funding sources in their home countries as early as possible.  We encourage candidates to pursue additional funding through alternative sources, as this is usually necessary when making the commitment to attend a business school in the U.S.  Loans may be available to international students who have been living in the U.S. and who have established credit history. It is also possible for international students to secure a U.S. loan if they have a U.S. co-signer.

Dean’s Scholarships	Scholarships for full-time M.B.A. candidates who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership potential, community service involvement and professional promise	$5,000 - $20,000/year
Direct Admission Scholarships	Scholarships for the full-time M.B.A. or M.S. program to students who are from a Direct Admission Partnership school, and who begin study immediately after completing their bachelor degree; for more details, visit: http://www.simon.rochester.edu/mba/4_2.aspx	$5,000/year
Fielding Fellowships	Scholarships awarded to full-time M.B.A. candidate who exhibit outstanding academic and professional credentials and who are planning to concentrate in Finance or Accounting.	$5,000 - $10,000/year
Forté Foundation Scholarships	Scholarships for full-time M.B.A. female candidates who demonstrate exemplary leadership in one or more ways: academic leadership, team leadership, community leadership, creative leadership; with diverse academic and work backgrounds, and a demonstrated commitment to women and girls via mentorship or community involvement.	$5,000 - $20,000/year

Simon Early Leader Scholarships	Candidates for the full-time M.B.A. or M.S. program who are nominated by a professor or mentor prior to application to the program, and ultimately selected as a Simon Early Leader award winner	$5,000/year
Simon Leadership Fellowships	Full-time M.B.A. candidates who exhibit outstanding academic and professional credentials, as well as an interest in making a significant impact in the world around them; Requires an on-campus interview and team case competition (through invitation by the Admissions committee)	$35,000/year and mentor from Simon Executive Advisory Committee member
Vance Scholarships	Scholarships for full-time M.B.A. candidates who demonstrate above average academic achievement, leadership potential and professional promise	$5,000 - $10,000/year
