M.S. Financial Aid

Scholarships for Full-Time Candidates

The Simon School assists qualified full-time students in financing their M.S. studies and has been relatively generous in awarding merit-based scholarships to those who show promise of achieving excellence at the School and in their careers. In awarding merit-based aid, primary emphasis is given to academic excellence, professional development and demonstrated qualities of leadership. To be considered for Simon School merit-based financial aid, the applicant needs only to complete the financial-aid portion of the application form.  Financial support from the Simon School is generally offered as a partial tuition scholarship. Scholarships awarded at a level above the average listed above are limited in nature, and only offered to exceptional candidates. Financial aid for international students is available, but limited, and candidates must consider the costs of financing their 1-year academic program in the U.S., including living expenses, prior to submitting an application for admission consideration. International students are also encouraged to investigate funding sources in their home countries as early as possible.

Loans for Part-Time and Full-Time Candidates

Part-time M.S. students who are U.S. residents or citizens are eligible for loans to provide financing for their education. The University of Rochester administers the full range of Federal and private financial aid programs.  In order to qualify, a matriculated part-time student must take two courses per quarter and attend school for at least three quarters per academic year, and a full-time student is typically completing 3-4 courses per year, depending on the program of study. To apply for loans, students should submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) through their Web site at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Additionally, international students who have 3 or more years residing within the U.S. may qualify for loans through Access Group without a co-signer, depending on personal U.S. credit history. For more information, please visit www.accessgroup.org.
